nSale: Home +Kids

Hi! So sorry its been forever since I’ve had a new post, but sometimes thats life! We are finally settled in Pensacola and it feels so good to be back in this city. We didn’t realize how much we missed it! In North Carolina we were about 30-45min from anything {besides the grocery store} so just being able to “run” to Starbucks or Target makes me feel like I’m living in a big city. While we miss our NC home, we definitely love the location of our new one here and have been taking the time to explore, showing Henry all our favorite spots around town. Tonight were headed to a kid friendly brewery for some local drinks and delicious pizza!

Like everyone else in the blogging world, I’m sharing my picks from the N Sale. I decided to forgo fashion and focus on some of my favorite home and kids items from the sale. Most of the kids things come in other colors but naturally I gravitate towards all things boy because of Henry. Have fun browsing!

Kids

1. Maxi Cosi Pria 85 Carseat : We absolutely love this carseat and are thinking about buying another for Erik’s car. The cloth cover is machine washable and it’s beyond easy to install. If you missed this seat on Amazon Prime day, grab it now!

2. Nike Kicks : I just think these are the cutest shoes! The velcro tops are kid {and mom} friendly and keep your kid looking like a “cool dude” as Henry says!

3. Munki Munki Pajamas : So so soft and they come in three different prints!

4. Aden + Anais Swaddling Cloths : If you don’t already know about these swaddling cloths stop what you’re doing and order them! They are our favorite baby product to date {Henry has six!}

5. Pom Storage Baskets : This is also a home item, but we use similar baskets for toy storage and to keep our beautiful mess contained.

Home

1. Nautica Comforter and Shams : If you’re looking for a new beset, I love this one. It’s a clean, classic style stripe that I don’t think you’ll get tired of in the future.

2. Nautica Accent Pillow : These accent pillows are on sale for $25! I’ve spent too much of my life looking for stylish but inexpensive throw pillows so don’t pass this one up!

3. Brooklyn Gold Edge Tray : Such a great, personalized gift for anyone!

4. Monogramed Throw : Another great gift idea, but also perfect to keep for yourself.

5. Octagon Wall Mirror : Love the gold frame and modern style

6. 600 Count Egyptian Cotton Sheet Set : Super soft and they’ll look great under that comforter you just bought!

7. Gold Rim Vase : This vase is only $25 and comes in a bunch of different shapes. I liked the hammered glass and shape of this one.

8. Diptyque Mini Candles : Great to split up as gifts or to use in different places around the house. These are my all-time favorite candles and if you haven’t tried them, its the perfect opportunity!

9. Chevron Spinner Carry-On : Not exactly a home item, but I couldn’t pass up this suitcase. It’s durable with its hardshell case and TSA approved locking system. It comes in three colors and if you’re planning on taking a summer trip, its a great size!

Home Tour: Part 2

Happy Monday and welcome to part two of our home tour! All the bedrooms in our home are located on the second floor along with two full baths and our laundry room. It didn’t even cross my mind to have the master bedroom on the main floor {as some of the other homes in our area do} but since having Henry, we absolutely love that were just right down the hall from him. I also love that both full bathrooms have a double vanity. As were in the process of looking for a new home now, I just can’t believe how many have single vanities and its kind of become my pet peeve! If you want to see more of Henry’s Nursery you can check out this post. As before, I’ve tried to link all items by room but if theres something you see thats not linked, just email!

Home Tour: Part 1

Happy Friday y’all! The weekend is finally here and the Olympic Opening Ceremonies are tonight! Can you tell I’m excited about them? If you’ve been following my stories on instagram you probably know that we’re getting ready to move. My husband was accepted to a Navy residency program back in Pensacola and while we love our house and the people we’ve met in North Carolina, we’re really looking forward to being back in Florida and with our “framily”. If you remember, we moved to NC from Pensacola and made some really great friends who have come to feel like family to us. We’re excited about what this next chapter is going to bring and what God has in store for us!

In the mean time, we just put our home on the market! One plus about selling your home is getting the professional photos and the fact that its basically always clean {because it has to be!} Since we have the great pictures I thought I’d share an updated home tour in two parts. Today is all about the down stairs and on Monday I’ll give you a peak into the second floor. I’ve linked everything I could below, but if theres anything you have a question about you can send me an email.  Photos by Rachel Carter

Arhaus Dream Closet

 Arhaus Dream Closet

Happy October! I love Arhaus so when I pictured designing my dream closet I knew they would be the perfect fit and I’m so excited to share it with you! Picture a giant walk in closet- I’m talking shelves for all your shoes, bags, and so much room for your clothes you need to go shopping {since we are dreaming right?!} I wanted a space that felt like an extension of my master bedroom rather than a “closet”. I started out by picking a giant chandelier that would set the tone for the room and an area rug to bring in my favorite color {blue}. This mirror was gorgeous and it’s large size makes it perfect for reflecting light and checking out whatever outfit I put together. I love the white color, but it also comes in a rustic gold. Every girl needs a place to sit in her closet {of course} and I wanted something that could seat a few friends. I went for a deep comfy couch and large ottoman from their Living Room collection that doubles as extra seating for when girlfriends come over! I loved the soft velvet and pop of pink that adds a feminine touch to the room. I accented with a faux fur throw in cream, some throw pillows to keep my blue and pink theme going, and some pillar candles in different sizes to make the room even more cozy. You can take a look at all the items I added on Arhaus or by clicking the links below. Enjoy!

1. Chandelier

2. Rug

3. Mirror

4. Sofa

5. Ottoman

6. Tray

7. Throw Pillows

8. Lumbar Pillow

9. Throw

10. End Table

11. Pillar Candles

new home: family room

I’m finally getting around to finishing our home tour and since I’ve wrapped up my Spring cleaning, I thought I’d give you a look into our family room! I love the natural light that comes through and I couldn’t help but go with a navy & white color scheme which also flows into our dining room and kitchen. We have an open floor plan so I wanted to use colors I love that could flow through out house and that I wouldn’t get tired of.

We used a bunch of storage baskets throughout the room because I love their organic look and they’re  especially amazing for hiding baby and dog toys! These are my favorites. They come in all different sizes so you can use them in multiple places around your home. I also really like these beachcomber baskets for storing extra blankets. If you’re looking for an easy way to refresh your home without spending a ton, throw pillows are your answer! Serena & Lily just came out with their Spring catalog and we’re freshening up our couch with some of their fun pillows. You can see my favorites below! I couldn’t find a picture for our exact sofa and chairs, but you can shop a similar sofa here and our exact chairs here!

Nursery Reveal

Happy Friday everyone! Our little Henry is due in just over a month and we are so excited to meet him we can barely stand it. Every night we talk about the big changes we have coming, how happy {and scared!} we are and how much we love him already!

I’m also excited to finally share our nursery with you! It’s been a work in progress for the last three months and I just love the way all our ideas came together. When we first found out we were having a boy I originally wanted to do a nautical theme. I was having a hard time coming up with ideas that weren’t main stream so after talking it out with my husband {he’s such a good listener!} he suggested something with animals. I loved it and the ideas just started coming!

Even though we weren’t going nautical anymore, I still kept {my favorite} blue and white color pallet for the room. I added pops of color through artwork and accessories and just love the way it turned out! I can’t wait to bring Henry home to this room and to watch him grow up in our home!

In addition to our nursery, I also included some gadgets we can’t wait to use once baby boy arrives. What are some of your must-haves and can’t-live-withouts for raising a baby through their first year? I’d love any tips or recommendations y’all have!

New Home: kitchen & sunroom

We’ve been in our new home for just over a month and I finally feel like it’s all starting to come together. While we still have a few walls that need artwork and corners that need accessories, we’re defiantly starting to settle into North Carolina and call it our!

Our kitchen and sunroom are fully finished so I wanted to share them with you! I’m hoping to get the rest of our home tour up throughout the month so make sure you’re following along on Instagram and Bloglovin’ for updates.

Our home is new construction but was basically finished when we found it so we weren’t able to make very many changes to the interior. Luckily the paint colors, kitchen and bathroom cabinets, and fixtures were all our style! While there’s still a few things I would upgrade, I love our home and getting settled in it has been a major answer to my “nesting” needs these days! Getting our kitchen organized was my first priority {since this is where we spend a lot of our time} and was relatively easy. Im a huge fan of Williams-Sonoma’s canisters {they come in all shapes, sizes & materials} for keeping everything in it’s place. I store our flour, sugar and coffee in the ceramic ones , and tea and cookies in the copper ones. I love that they’re functional but also look great displayed on our counters.

Finding a kitchen table was my biggest challenge due to the size of space we needed to fill. I also made it harder on myself because I did not want to budge on the seating around the table. I fell in love with Serena & Lily’s Riviera Chairs and they were the only thing I had envisioned around our kitchen table. So, after weeks of searching, we finally found a round {extendable} table from Universal Furniture with a “linen” finish. I was so happy with the find and felt like it tied all our spaces and existing furniture together {our family room also opens up to the kitchen & dining area}

We have a sunroom right off of our kitchen and we love it! It’s such a fun place to sit in the evening and  entertain when friends come over. We also put our desk in there and have really enjoyed getting work done in such a bright space! Our desk was custom made and our wicker desk chair you can grab from Ikea for under $100. I linked similar styles for both, but seriously, you can’t beat Ikea’s price on this chair {and it’s lasted us 6+years} Our bar set up is my favorite {even though I haven’t paid it a visit in a while} Our cart is from Threshold and I completed it with personalized acrylic stemless glasses from Mark + Graham along with traditional bar wear from Pottery Barn and Williams-Sonoma. You can shop our kitchen and sunroom below and stay tuned throughout the month for more of our home tour!

{originally posted 11/9/15}

I am so happy to finally have our master bedroom and bath finished! It is such a wonderful feeling to come home to a completed bedroom and when we tuck ourselves in a night we are defiantly sleeping soundly! I just love Serena & Lily and when we upgraded to a king bed I couldn’t resist their Palmetto duvet cover and euro shams. I am such a sucker for navy and white {as you know} and the slight pop of burnt orange was the perfect amount of color for us. I found our headboard from One Kings Lane and loved the geometric detail. Serena & Lily also makes a similar one that you can customize, but ours was a quarter of the price {its on sale right now!} and the color was perfect for our room. Because our bed sits so high we needed night stands that were also a similar hight. We searched all around and actually found ones from Target in their kitchen area and they are perfect! I added a touch of personalization with shams from Pottery Barn and couldn’t be happier with the way our room turned out!

For finishing touches in our master bath I used the softest Pottery Barn towels and durable glass canisters. They have the best ones I’ve found and are perfect for using all over your house {I had some of them in our previous kitchen} I added a few pictures of “us” and called it a day with our bathroom.
