Fall Layers

 J. Crew, Target / Bottom: AG Jeans / Booties: Target

Henry: Top: Janie and Jack {similar} / Bottoms: Target

Last year during this time we were in North Carolina waiting for Henry to arrive and fall was in full force. Since were in Florida this year, we have defiantly been missing the change in seasons, but this week it has finally started to feel like fall! I layered up with a gingham shirt from J. Crew {the ‘boy shirt’ is my favorite style} and this super soft long sleeve tee from Target. We all know Target is amazing, but I was especially surprised when I went in {for one thing of course} and came out with a new shirt and booties for me, and a pair of pants for Henry. I bought them thinking we’d wear them when we were back in NC, but mother nature surprised me and I’m not mad about it! My booties come in two colors and when I got them they were on sale for $28, how could I resist?!

Since this will be Henry’s first Halloween, we’re getting ready to carve pumpkins tonight and taking him trick-or-treating on Tuesday. He’ll be the cutest pumpkin in the neighborhood!

It’s A Boy!

This past weekend my friend Shea and I threw a couples baby shower for Alina {from The Neapolitan} and her husband. They are expecting a baby boy in January and we just couldn’t wait to love on their whole family! We went with a rubber ducky theme and incorporated light blues and yellows through all our decorations. Shea found the cutest cupcake toppers and I ordered mini rubber duckies and jumbo rubber duckies from Amazon. They were perfect for spreading out around the food and flowers and looked perfect on top of the baby blocks I made.

If you’re looking to recreate the blocks or make something similar, it’s pretty easy {but a little time consuming}. I found almost everything I needed at Home Depot and it was all under $30. I used 22″ packing boxes, taped them up and covered them with brown wrapping paper. I googled ‘ABC block templets’ and picked the type of font I liked best {I used the ones on this site I saved the image then went and had them printed to 26″ at Staples {the actual letters are only 16″}. Cut out the letters with an xacto knife to create a stencil but make sure to save the middle sections of the A and B. Trace the letters onto the middle of all the box sides and then paint! I choose a baby blue color at Home Depot and had them mix it in one of their small paint sample containers {about $5} I picked up a mini paint roller to cover the larger areas of the letters and small 1″ paint brush to outline them. They were so easy to make and added a fun touch to the shower!

Pumpkin Picking

 J. Crew {on sale!} / Denim:AG Jeans Henry’s Costume: Pottery Barn Kids / Onesie: Carter’s {similar}

We made a visit to our local pumpkin patch this past weekend and had so much fun exploring the grounds at Hunsader Farms. Henry loved crawling through the rows of pumpkins and banging on them like drums! I brought along his Halloween costume and we took some of the cutest photos. I got Henry’s costume from Pottery Barn Kids but they have so many cute options it was hard to decide. We went with a pumpkin because, well… who doesn’t love a chunky baby dressed up like a pumpkin?! Whats your favorite Fall tradition and have you picked out your pumpkin yet?!

Arhaus Dream Closet

 Arhaus Dream Closet

Happy October! I love Arhaus so when I pictured designing my dream closet I knew they would be the perfect fit and I’m so excited to share it with you! Picture a giant walk in closet- I’m talking shelves for all your shoes, bags, and so much room for your clothes you need to go shopping {since we are dreaming right?!} I wanted a space that felt like an extension of my master bedroom rather than a “closet”. I started out by picking a giant chandelier that would set the tone for the room and an area rug to bring in my favorite color {blue}. This mirror was gorgeous and it’s large size makes it perfect for reflecting light and checking out whatever outfit I put together. I love the white color, but it also comes in a rustic gold. Every girl needs a place to sit in her closet {of course} and I wanted something that could seat a few friends. I went for a deep comfy couch and large ottoman from their Living Room collection that doubles as extra seating for when girlfriends come over! I loved the soft velvet and pop of pink that adds a feminine touch to the room. I accented with a faux fur throw in cream, some throw pillows to keep my blue and pink theme going, and some pillar candles in different sizes to make the room even more cozy. You can take a look at all the items I added on Arhaus or by clicking the links below. Enjoy!

National Consignment Day

Happy National Consignment Day! I teamed up with The Real Real to talk all about consigning your old {or sometimes never worn} goods. If you’re like me you have tons of things just sitting in your closet that you haven’t worn in a long while, things that don’t fit, or shoes you’ve replaced. Consigning isn’t only a great way to clean out your closet and start fresh, its also an easy way to make a little extra money while also being sustainable. 2.5 billion pounds of clothing are saved from landfills a year through resale and donation. Companies, like The Real Real, will take your lightly worn designer clothing, jewelry, shoes and handbags, photograph them, merchandise them, and sell them on their site while you earn up to 70% of the profit! Its super easy and actually a little fun to see your once old things new again. Donating is another great way to freshen up your closet while also making sustainable choices. Contact local charities in your area and see if they’re looking for clothing. It’s a great way to give back to the community and to help others that are in need. #neverthrowaway

I linked a few things that are currently in my closet {and that I wish were in my closet} listed on The Real Real for way less than retail, you can shop them below!
