To Travel

 Beach Shorts from Lilly Pulitzer {non maternity} and I can wear them with these Gap Tees for a casual look or dress them up a little with this J. Crew Button Up {also not maternity, I just sized way up} Dresses have been my best friend during pregnancy so I’m bringing some of my favorites like this t-shirt dresscotton 3/4 sleeve and this maxi dress {I’m normally an XS-S in Lilly, but sized up to a M for my bump and they fit perfectly} I’m also packing all the oversized scarves and using them as beach coverups. This one is perfect for turning into a wrap! I’m taking a hiatus from the blog while were gone so follow me on Instagram to see our hawaiian adventure! Also, check out what I’ll be wearing for our long day of travel below!

The After Party Sale

It’s that time of year! Lilly’s After Party Sale started this morning and it’s the best thing ever. I rounded up my favorites from the sale so you can do some quick shopping {once you’ve magically made it into the site} Sizes are going quick but theres still some great accessories available. I mean this Palm Beach Tote is amazing for an end of the summer beach trip or travel bag and it’s only $39! Don’t miss out on the Callahan Shorts {so many prints and solids on sale!} starting at $34 and the Skipper Popovers {they’re so soft}. The sale lasts two days only so here’s some tips on making the most of it!

1. Make sure you create an account! It makes checking out so much easier especially if you add your credit card and shipping info!

2. Don’t waste time “browsing”: If there’s some must haves you’ve had your eye on grab them! and know your size! You can always come back later and look through the other amazing deals, but if you just can’t live without that Shift Dress, grab it! Lilly has been around forever and since I’ve been wearing it {too many years to count} it runs pretty true to size. Before pregnancy I was a 2/XS in dresses and a 2-4 in bottoms. Now that I’m pregnant I’ve been getting M’s in dresses and shorts {only if they have an elastic band}

If you’re not sure about your sizing or never purchased Lilly before, size up. I’s so easy and relatively inexpensive to get alterations done these days and will be so worth it, especially on your coveted items!

3. Once you’ve added your must haves to your shopping cart, check out! Just know that once you’ve check out, you’ll be put back at the end of the queue line so shop quickly and grab the things you want. Also, just because an item is in your cart, it doesn’t mean it’s yours. Which is why its important to know what you want and shop quickly. Once you’ve gotten your main items, take time later and browse the rest of the sale!

Good luck and happy shopping!

The Dusk Dress {tbt}

Dress: Lilly Pulitzer / Necklace: J. Crew / Watch: Michele {faceband} / Heels: Lilly Pulitzer {similar}

Throwing it back this Thursday with one of my favorite dresses. The Dusk Dress from Lilly Pulitzer was created after their ever popular Dusk Top and oh my, it is amazing! It’s sporty with it’s racer back but lovely with it flowy fit and flattering v-neckline. I love this J. Crew necklace, especially with the Jellies Be Jamming print {past season} for the continued theme {it reminds me of bubbles!} There’s other great prints from this season that you’ll also love and you can still shop them below!

New Home: kitchen & sunroom

We’ve been in our new home for just over a month and I finally feel like it’s all starting to come together. While we still have a few walls that need artwork and corners that need accessories, we’re defiantly starting to settle into North Carolina and call it our!

Our kitchen and sunroom are fully finished so I wanted to share them with you! I’m hoping to get the rest of our home tour up throughout the month so make sure you’re following along on Instagram and Bloglovin’ for updates.

Our home is new construction but was basically finished when we found it so we weren’t able to make very many changes to the interior. Luckily the paint colors, kitchen and bathroom cabinets, and fixtures were all our style! While there’s still a few things I would upgrade, I love our home and getting settled in it has been a major answer to my “nesting” needs these days! Getting our kitchen organized was my first priority {since this is where we spend a lot of our time} and was relatively easy. Im a huge fan of Williams-Sonoma’s canisters {they come in all shapes, sizes & materials} for keeping everything in it’s place. I store our flour, sugar and coffee in the ceramic ones , and tea and cookies in the copper ones. I love that they’re functional but also look great displayed on our counters.

Finding a kitchen table was my biggest challenge due to the size of space we needed to fill. I also made it harder on myself because I did not want to budge on the seating around the table. I fell in love with Serena & Lily’s Riviera Chairs and they were the only thing I had envisioned around our kitchen table. So, after weeks of searching, we finally found a round {extendable} table from Universal Furniture with a “linen” finish. I was so happy with the find and felt like it tied all our spaces and existing furniture together {our family room also opens up to the kitchen & dining area}

We have a sunroom right off of our kitchen and we love it! It’s such a fun place to sit in the evening and  entertain when friends come over. We also put our desk in there and have really enjoyed getting work done in such a bright space! Our desk was custom made and our wicker desk chair you can grab from Ikea for under $100. I linked similar styles for both, but seriously, you can’t beat Ikea’s price on this chair {and it’s lasted us 6+years} Our bar set up is my favorite {even though I haven’t paid it a visit in a while} Our cart is from Threshold and I completed it with personalized acrylic stemless glasses from Mark + Graham along with traditional bar wear from Pottery Barn and Williams-Sonoma. You can shop our kitchen and sunroom below and stay tuned throughout the month for more of our home tour!

Pensacola Master Bed & Bath

One Kings Lane / Duvet & Shams: Serena & Lily {duvet / shams/ Monogrammed Shams: Pottery Barn / Bed Skirt: Bed Bath & Beyond / Nightstands: Threshold / Lamps: Vintage / Apothecary Jars: Pottery Barn / Towels: Pottery Barn / Candles: Diptyque

{originally posted 11/9/15}

I am so happy to finally have our master bedroom and bath finished! It is such a wonderful feeling to come home to a completed bedroom and when we tuck ourselves in a night we are defiantly sleeping soundly! I just love Serena & Lily and when we upgraded to a king bed I couldn’t resist their Palmetto duvet cover and euro shams. I am such a sucker for navy and white {as you know} and the slight pop of burnt orange was the perfect amount of color for us. I found our headboard from One Kings Lane and loved the geometric detail. Serena & Lily also makes a similar one that you can customize, but ours was a quarter of the price {its on sale right now!} and the color was perfect for our room. Because our bed sits so high we needed night stands that were also a similar hight. We searched all around and actually found ones from Target in their kitchen area and they are perfect! I added a touch of personalization with shams from Pottery Barn and couldn’t be happier with the way our room turned out!

For finishing touches in our master bath I used the softest Pottery Barn towels and durable glass canisters. They have the best ones I’ve found and are perfect for using all over your house {I had some of them in our previous kitchen} I added a few pictures of “us” and called it a day with our bathroom.

Shop the details below and stay tuned for more looks inside our home!
